A MakerSpace, also called a HackerSpace or FabLab, is a community funded and run workspace that allows you to access and use equipment, tools and resources all under one roof.
These spaces also allow you to meet other people who share similar interests, collaborate with others and learn new skills as well as pursue personal and collaborative projects.
There are many diverse areas within a MakerSpace offering different equipment and tools such as; 3D Printers, Laser cutters, Woodworking, Metalworking, Machining, Arts & Crafts, Computing, Electronics etc
We hope to open the Maker Space and make it available to Derby Makers, Creatives and Hobbyists alike in summer 2018. We also plan to make available private workshops and studios to local creatives as demand for personal work space within Derby is high. More info can be found on our Personal Studios page.
You can help by joining our FaceBook page, and share it with your friends. You can also link people to this website where we hope to have as much information made available as possible.
If you would like to help by volunteering or join our growing team then please visit our forum and introduce yourself. We are also looking for donations and loans of equipment, tools and resources that we can then use at the space. If you have something to offer then please use the Contact Us page.
